This Book is in Good Condition. Clean Copy With Light Amount of Wear. 100% Guaranteed. Summary: None of us were prepared for what we saw after the door was opened. I saw it before Byrd attacked. It chilled me and at the same time, it sickened me. When I looked closer, an unfamiliar terror seized me. My stomach began to cramp and I could feel my body suddenly chilled. I broke out in a cold sweat. I thought I would throw up. I turned and looked at my friends. They were just as horrified and stunned as I. Thad was the first to back out and Matt stood paralyzed. His eyes filled with tears and he started weeping. Jason stepped forward and threw his arm around Matts shoulder and together they slowly backed out of the room."In the small town of Wilson, North Carolina, five close buddies come of age during the summer of 1957. What these boys discover in their quest into manhood unravels into the sins of the town and the horrible discovery of the unprecedented noise upstairs. Codice inventario libreria

Riassunto: The transition from adolescence into adulthood is a tumultuous time of uncertainty when the fairy tales of childhood are often replaced by harsh reality. This newly increased awareness combined with sudden physical and emotional changes thrust adolescents into a time of skepticism when silly childhood games are memories of the past and adult responsibilities seem beyond their reach. For five boys growing up in Wilson, North Carolina during the late 1950?s, this transition was harder than anyone could imagine. "The Noise Upstairs" by Lucien Stark illustrates the powerful friendship of five close buddies on the cusp of adulthood who stand together as their world crumbles around them. The summer of 1957 was supposed to be a celebration of the completion of their sophomore year ? a summer of relaxation, fun, and adventure. Good friends since first grade, Jason, Matt, Thad, David, and Braxton looked forward to turning sixteen and all that came with the rite of passage into manhood. However, none of them were prepared for the secret they were about to discover ? a secret which could cripple the small, affluent town of Wilson. If only the boys had not gone upstairs, maybe being sixteen would have been normal. However, the horror these five friends witnessed would change their lives forever. What these boys discover in their quest into manhood unravels the sins of the town and the horrible discovery of the unprecedented ?noise upstairs.? Stark?s page-turning novel, "The Noise Upstairs," tells the tragic story of five boys coming of age who band together to save their town from the truth that will eventually haunt them for the rest of their lives.

L'autore: Lucien Stark was born and reared in Wilson, North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his master?s degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. This is his first novel.
