Riguardo questo articolo
"Held in the Highest Estimation" Sugden, Edward Burtenshaw [1781-1875]. A Practical Treatise of Powers. London: S. Sweet, 1836. Two volumes. lv, 581; [ii], xliii, [1], 703 pp. Partially interleaved. "Index to Cases Cited or Introduced" and "Table of Statutes Cited" misbound at beginning of Vol. II. Octavo (9-1/4" x 5-1/2"). Recent buckram, gilt fillets and titles to spines, endpapers renewed. Light toning to interior, occasional light foxing. Occasional ink annotations, most in a single hand, to text (and four interleaves) throughout both volumes, several in partial shorthand. $250. * Sixth London edition. First published in 1808, this notable English treatise on powers in the law of decedents' estates was well received, going through eight English and four American editions. As noted by a contemporary critic: "The authority of this work is second to no modern elementary book. The defects of the treatise are said to be an insufficient development of the principles involved in the several doctrines discussed, and an occasional wandering into unnecessary detail, but with all, it is a masterly elucidation of the subtle doctrine of powers, and is held in the highest estimation" (Marvin).
