Riassunto: This book is a beginner?s guide with 215 pictures and instructions on how to take a white, primered model horse to a finished show piece. It covers five basic colors: bay, sorrel or chestnut, palomino, buckskin or dun, and dapple gray. It has lots of hints and extra pictures to help you succeed. As a bonus, real horse pictures are included.
L'autore: My name is Karen Prescott. I live in Nampa, Idaho with my Husband, two dogs, four cats, one cow and 11 horses. My love for horses started at an early age and the passion I had for them never wavered. My parents hoped I would outgrow it but instead it just grew. I passed that love on to my daughter and two sons. I started collecting Breyers when I was about six. In the late 1960s, one or two lawn mowing jobs would buy a model horse, and that?s how I built my collection. Of course I played with them and broke a few so now I have a collection of horse bodies for customizing. However, I prefer customizing stablemates. From a young age, I showed my artistic talent by drawing horses. I started customizing models in the late 1990s. I attended a model horse pastel clinic taught by Sarah Tregay where I discovered a new best friend and passion: pasteling stablemates. Sarah and I still love getting together and creating what we call new customs. I love trying to match a pastel job with the picture of a real horse. I enjoy selling models I?ve done. I also do repairs on models or resins that have broken. Sometimes I have to create a new ear or leg but my favorite part is putting color on and watching that primer white horse come to life.
