The author has inscribed this 277 page fantasy novel, which is the first in the series of "The Books of Eva." Ricardo Cortés has provided several black-and-white illustrations for the volume. The end papers are maps of the area described in the book and a illustrated graphic representation of the history of the area also is provided prior to the start of the story. The board are covered in a dark blue paper and a lighter blue cloth spine cover with gilt lettering. There is a bit of wear to the lower corner of the bend from the front panel to the front flap, a previous owner's initials-the person to whom the book was inscribed?-are at the top right edge of the front free end paper, and the top edge of the rear board is bumped.
