Riassunto: Benjamin Malaussene is a professional scapegoat. He works for a large Parisian department store, and every time an grate customer appears. Malaussene has to be there to take the blame. But one day, when the first or a series of bombs explodes in the toy department, he decides to resist the call of duty. Once again, Malaussene becomes the prime suspect. Meanwhile. and to his astonishment, the attacks only increase the desire of the shoppers to spend their hard-earned francs in the temple of consumerism.
With Malaussene, his extended and exhaustive family, and the people of Paris's Belleville quarter. Daniel Pennac has created one of the most original and memorable collections of characters. They interact in a wild, provocative, thrilling story in which the Parisian everyday takes on a surreal edge, and begins to spiral out of control.
L'autore: DANIEL PENNAC was born in Casablanca in 1944, his father being in the army. He travelled widely in his youth, in Europe, Asia and Africa, and has been employed in a number of capacities, including woodcutter, Paris cab driver, illustrator and schoolteacher. His "Belleville Quintet", written round the character of Benjamin Malaussene, has been published in many languages.
