Riassunto: "This Job is Hazardous to Your Health." That should have been the warning on the position New Yorker Libby Landis took ten years ago. When she finally quits, she heads to Park City, Utah for the holidays. Her goal? Reclaim a sense of self-respect and find a little peace. A temporary job at Deer Valley Resort enables her to ski for free and keep her checkbook afloat. And then there's Craig Halverson. How bad is it to have a handsome former ski champion for a boss? All goes well until Libby is injured on the slopes and mysterious dreams start to plague her. Are they insignificant? Just the result of stress or pain medication? Or are they the beginning of the revelation of a secret buried long ago?
Slippery Slopes is the story of a young woman whose life dramatically changes as she unearths the event that shaped her life, triumphs over the past, and finds not just self-respect and peace, but love.
From the Author:
This book is close to my heart because it celebrates self-discovery, family, skiing, and especially, Park City, Utah. In fact, my statement that it was my "love song" to the town was printed in an interview in the paper, The Park Record, and then picked up by host Terry Burden of PCTV when I made an appearance on his Mountain Stages show.
I think many readers, both male and female, will identify with Libby's predicament: she's well-compensated on the job, but the stress level associated with her employer is literally almost killing her. Walking away from it was her first step toward wellness. And if the reader in a similar situation hasn't yet made that break, maybe this will be a form of encouragement. I know it was for me. Cryptic, but I'm sure you catch my drift--pun intended.
Slippery Slopes is a perfect vacation, plane ride, sit-by-the-fire, even on-the-beach read. There's history on the former mining town of Park City, fascinating facts on snow, and yummy food descriptions, always a delicious addition to fun fiction.
I hope you enjoy reading about Libby as much as I did writing about her. And thanks for visiting with me!
