Riassunto: In the UK, new social workers will be asked to complete, contribute to, and present assessment during practice learning toward their degree, and after. This book will help social workers ensure that they understand the features of a good assessment, how they are conducted, and some of the difficulties that might arise during the process. The first edition of this book quickly established itself as one of the key texts for students studying towards the social work degree. This new edition has been updated and expanded to reflect the most up-to-date thinking on UK assessment practice.
About the Author: Professor Jonathan Parker is Head of Social Work and Learning Disability at Bournemouth University and, with colleagues, has developed the Centre for Social Work and Social Care Research. He has published widely on education, practice learning, theories of social work and dementia and palliative care. He is past chair of the Association of Teachers in Social Work Education and current vice-chair of the Joint University Council Social Work Education Committee. Greta Bradley is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at the University of York, where she teaches community care and research methods. She has practice and management experience in the statutory sector. Her recent research is on aspects of charging for long term care and a follow-up study of care managers.
