Riassunto: The Successful Truck Driver is intended to inform interested individuals about truck driving as a career. This is done in stages. First, information is given on what the intended driver should know at the onset of on-the-job training. Next, information is given on routine activities that the trainee driver will be required to perform while in training and how to be successful at those activities. Then the trainee driver is instructed on sustaining self as an independent driver accomplishing the daily tasks. At the end of the book, the author presents a proposal for training the driver trainers.
About the Author: Philip Ikomi, 60, is a former airline pilot with more than seven thousand flight hours. He has flown passengers into major cities, including London Heathrow, Rome Fumiccino, Amsterdam Schiphol, and New York Kennedy International Airports. Philip Ikomi graduated Summa Cum Laude in Psychology from Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio. He studied Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), Ohio where he obtained his doctoral degree. Dr. Ikomi trained at the Truck Driver Institute (TDI) in Sanford, Florida where he obtained his Commercial Driving Certificate with double and triple trailer and Hazmat endorsements. He is currently a research scientist.
