L'autore: Carolyn Adams has been active in the art and literary communities of Houston, Austin, Galveston and other parts of Texas since the 1980?s. In the Flying Dutchman Writers Troupe, she coordinated and performed in numerous readings, festivals, and literary events. As a solo act, she has continued to be a part of the local scene as a feature in many local series, such as Word Around Town, Houston Public Poetry, Words and Art Poetry Series, Gulf Coast Poets, and First Friday. Her poetry, art and photography have appeared in numerous publications, such as Clare Literary Journal, Glass Mountain, Hazmat Review, Sulphur River Literary Review, RiverSedge and Cenizo Journal, among others. She has assisted in editing and publishing the poetry journals Curbside Review, Ardent, Lily Literary Review, and Mad Hatters Review. Her published chapbooks are Beautiful Strangers (2006, Lily Press), What Do you See? (2007, Right Hand Pointing), and An Ocean of Names (2011, Red Shoe Press). She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and was a finalist for the post of 2013 Houston Poet Laureate.
