Descrizione:

in-folio. 10ff. 387pp. "Everything was done to separate them from their fellow-men, to mark them out as the objects of undying hatred, and to stifle all compassion for their sufferings. They were compelled to wear a peculiar dress, and to live in a separate quarter. A Christian might not enter into any partnership with them; he might not eat with them; he might not use the same bath; he might not employ them as physicians; he might not even purchase their drugs. For a long list of these prohibitions see a curious book, De Judæis (Turin, 1717), by Joseph Sessa (one of the judges appointed in Piedmont to regulate the affairs of the Jews)" (Lecky). Une section est imprimée en italien (pp. 271-302). Titre imprimé en rouge et noir. Très bon exemplaire. Cf. Lecky, History of the Rise and Influence of the Spirit of Rationalism in Europe, chapitre VI et notes. Codice inventario libreria
