Riassunto: The Transracial Adoption Parenting Guide is a comprehensive guide for transracial adoptive parents on promoting healthy cultural identity development in their adoptive children. In this book you will discover techniques and strategies in setting the right tone and atmosphere for successful parenting. This guide will also provide you with a wealth of information regarding everything from the history of transracial adoption to the 7 adoptee stages of development, including what parents can expect at every age!

L'autore: Dr. Latoria Fleming has spent a major portion of her career researching cultural identity development in children and young adults. This research resulted in the Transracial Adoptee Cultural Identity Development (TACID) model, a developmental theory that provides a timeline of developmental phases and events that affect the various stages of cultural identity in transracially adopted children from birth to young adulthood. Dr. Fleming's dissertation, entitled "The Evolution of Cultural Competence in Transracial Adoptive Parents", measured the changes in cultural competence over the first five years of adoption. This study marked what would become the beginning of a dedication to improving the level of support and education linking not only adoptive families, but all multicultural children and families throughout our country and abroad.
