Riassunto: Elementary classroom teachers across the nation face a number of daily challenges. Today, schools require educators to teach a wide range of objectives covering a variety of curricular areas, and vocabulary instruction is not always a teacher’s top priority. Many teachers wonder how much time to spend on explicit vocabulary instruction. Still, more express concerns over how best to assess student mastery of vocabulary terms. There is not a "one-size-fits-all" vocabulary program that works everywhere for everyone. A healthy vocabulary diet includes multiple approaches to accommodate all learners. This innovative book includes a variety of strategies for teachers interested in enhancing their students’ vocabulary growth.

L'autore: Dr. Danny Brassell is an Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Department at California State University - Dominguez Hills. A former elementary teacher in Compton, California, Dr. Brassell has worked with students ranging from preschoolers in inner-city Los Angeles to graduate students at the University of Southern California taking English as a Second Language. Dr.

James Flood is Professor of Literacy and Language in the School of Teacher Education at San Diego State University. He has taught at the preschool, elementary, middle, and secondary level in addition to his work with teachers in the College of Education at SDSU.
