Riassunto: Autobiography of a 29-year-old man with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a terminal disease for which there is no treatment or cure. The book chronicles his life, the challenges and obstacles he faces daily. The author chose to be main-streamed through school, graduating 'cumma sum laude' from Temple Univeristy. This book is about courage, the determination to succeed, and live a purposeful life. The author is donating all book sales to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, a not for profit organization dedicated to helping improve the treatment, quality of life, and outlook for individuals affected by this disease.

L'autore: Josh Winheld was born in March, 1978, a healthy boy by all appearances. Less than five years later, he was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a fatal genetic disorder that causes the skeletal and heart muscles to progressively weaken and for which there is no treatment or cure. Typically, those with DMD live until their mid 20s. Despite being in a wheelchair since he was 10 years old and requiring a ventilator to breathe for the past several years, Josh has chosen to live life as "normally" as possible. Mainstreamed through public schools in suburban Philadelphia, he went on to graduate summa cum laude from Temple University with a journalism degree. Now in his 30s, he is working on a master's degree in urban studies, with a focus on accessible housing for people with disabilities.
