Five parts published in 4 volumes (Part II published in 2 separate volumes; parts III-V bound together) in original three-quarter gilt leather, w/ raised bands; Vol. I w/ corners bumped, one page loose, o/w good; Vol. II (1st volume) is ex-library, front hinge loose, light foxing on several pages w/ small stain at top of approx. 5 pages, o/w good; Vol II (2nd volume) is ex-library; upper portion of calf binding on spine perished; edgewear w/ corners bumped; light foxing of inside boards and endpages; light browning of leaves; o/w in good condition. Does NOT include the Atlas. Third volume (pt. III-V) inscribed by author, corners heavily bumped, front hinge cracked, edges of inside boards and endpages browned and foreedge of front endpage chipped; folded map w/ nicks along bottom edge, o/w contents in good condition.
