A clean, sound copy with only light offsetting to the endpapers and a damp stain visible to the edge of the photographic frontispiece portrait (as shown). The dust jacket is bright and fully intact, with minor creasing and edgewear -- much less that's usually seen. A solid example of Patchen s bold foray into prose poetry, printed at the Blue Ridge Mountain Press and issued by James Laughlin s New Directions. By 1954, Kenneth Patchen had firmly established himself as a pioneering figure in American poetry. The book is clean and tight, with foxing on first and last few pages, that is, as usual, a little heavier on the back of the frontispiece and the facing page with list of previous titles.
