First US edition, very good in a very good dust jacket. Faint tape ghosts on boards at top and bottom; small remains of a label at the top of the front endpaper. Black lines along bottom of endpapers from old style dust jacket protector. Small dampstain at bottom of page block, just next to the backstrip (barely can be seen on bottom edge of pages). The jacket has been cropped by about 1/4" (probably along the top edge), and has a larger dampstain at the bottom of the spine, wrapping slightly to the front and rear panels. No library markings anywhere on the book, and in reality a tight and square copy of the author's fourth novel with the $3.50 price intact. Made into the film Village of the Damned.
