Very good in wrappers with crease to covers and pages, and short, closed tear to foredge of back panel and last page, plus mild wear to spine where disbound. Pages are clean and bright. Complete and original issue of Life. Mrs. Wilson's short article is about women and indigestion, "A Hopeless Case" (p. 436). Centerfold reproduction of a painting by William Balfour-ker, "In the Plymouth Woods," shows two pilgrims in the forest with a young Indian child in full head gear and with bow and arrow hiding behind a tree. This issue features a color illustration by C. Allan Gilbert of an elderly gentleman at his table being served by his pretty servant. Article, "Americanus Automobilis" about how the new automobile "simply exhibits a new aspect of the characterisitic American lack of poise, the temperamental defect of control" (p. 423). Elbert Hubbard's two column answer to the question "Are Three American Women Out of Five Disappointed in Their Husbands?" Also, an editorial about Theodore Roosevelt's presidential campaign (p. 424) An interesting piece of turn-of-the-century memorabilia with ads for Milo Cigarettes, Victor Talking Machine, Prudential Rock, the California Limited train, to name only a few, and plenty of cartoons and other illustrations, plus feature stories and poetry.
