Riguardo questo articolo
FIRST EDITION. Tall 8 vo. Contemp. cloth-backed marbled boards, the front wrapper mounted on the cover. 77, (1) pp. Diag. in the text. The COPY of the Harvard chemist, Charles R. Sanger (1860-1912) with his ownership signature dated May 21, 1888. Uniformly lightly browned, a bit used; a good to very good copy. "One of the classic contributions to stereo-chemistry." (Sotheran/Zeitlinger, vol.2, no. 15604). Wislicenus (1835-1902) succeeded Kolbe at Leipzig in 1885. "In 1887 Wislicenus published an important paper on the stereoisomerism of unsaturated carbon compounds, extending the hypothesis along the lines suggested by van't Hoff and also considering the attractive-repulsive forces of the atoms in order to determine the most probable geometric configuration of the atoms in the molecule. He showed how interpretation of maleic and fumaric acids as geometric isomers explained their chemical transformations. In addition he determined the configurations of many unsaturated isomeric carbon compounds and investigated geometric isomerism in cyclic compounds." (D.S.B.).Von Meyer (1906), pp. 369-71. Partington IV. 762. Duveen, p.623. Bolton I. 926. Smith Coll., p.514. Codice articolo 000455
