L'autore:

E M Forster was born in London in 1879 and attended Tonbridge School. In 1897 he went on to King's College, Cambridge where, almost fifty years later, he was elected to an Honorary Fellowship. His best-known novels include A Room with a View, Howards End and A Passage to India, which won both the Prix Femina Vie Heureuse and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. He also wrote short stories, essays,biographies and co-wrote the libretto for Britten's opera Billy Budd. He died in June 1970
