David Spangenburg - is a Freelance Wordsmith, currently working in both the print world and cyberspace. His short fiction, essays, articles, poetry, blogs and Op-eds can be found in various magazines, newspapers and on numerous websites. A talented Playwright, he penned the Book and Lyrics to the cult classic musical comedy, "Carhops, Lost in Time" and the hilarious two act stage play "Pirates of the Airwaves!" which featured, legendary character actor and friend, Victor Wong ("Last Emperor", "Big Trouble in Little China", "Golden Child", “Joy Luck Club”). He wrote, produced and directed; "caught between heaven & hell and no tomorrow", "Tapestry" and "Stream of Being" a series of critically acclaimed, Multi-Medium Performance Theatre Productions staged throughout Northern California. He lives in the Gulf Coast Beach Town, St Petersburg, FL with his wife Kate and their three dogs, Rat Terrier - Skipper, Wire Haired Dachshund - Scout and 16 year old Double Sable Merle Sheltie - Merle’n. Dr. Al Plechner DVM – a 1966 graduate 0f the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, practiced in West Los Angeles for close to fifty years. Developing a special interest in nutrition and food allergies, his clinical research led him to discover their relationship to hormone-immune imbalances in dogs, cats and horses. Doctor Plechner formulated the first hypoallergenic foods for pets, the first lamb and rice diet, the first vegetarian diet and is the co-creator of Nature’s Recipes. He also identified endocrine-immune imbalances caused by defective adrenals as well as estrogen dominance in both male and female animals. His clinical findings have been published in veterinary and human medical journals as well as popular animal magazines. He published Pet Allergies, Remedies for an Epidemic in 1986, Pets at Risk, From Allergies to Cancer and a Compendium of Medical articles, Endocrine-Immune Mechanisms in Animal and Human Health Implications in 2003 and “Fifty Years of Healing” in 2012. Though still in active practice in Los Angeles, CA, His home is in the middle of one million acres of state forest, 15 miles from Orofino Idaho. where he lives with his son Jay, daughter in law Shelly, granddaughter Jayden and Big Jack, a Fila, Magnum, an Irish Wolf Hound, their 2 cats, Bert and Ernie and GoGo, a Yorkshire Terrier that was dropped off for a short “baby sit” whose owner never returned.
