The European Reformation remains of considerable importance to both historians and theologians. Alister E. McGrath is Lecturer in historical and systematic theology at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and a member of the Faculty of Theology of Oxford University. He is also the author of Luther′s Theology of the Cross (1985), The Making of Modern German Christology (1986), Iustitia Dei: A history of the Doctrine of Justification (1986), and the Intellectual Origins of the European Reformation (1987).
