Carla Pernell Cyprian was born and raised in New Orleans, La. She is a mother, wife and book author. Carla began writing at the age of nineteen when she was three months pregnant with her daughter. It all started with writing letters to her unborn child. The letter writing soon became a journal of untold stories that turned into over fifteen five-subject two-hundred sheet spiral notebooks. Unfortunately, Carla lost them all in Hurricane Katrina in 2005. But the stories she wrote remained in her head. Carla’s dream is to start a charity foundation for sexually abused children. The author loves to spend quality time with Alonzo, her husband of seventeen years and their two children. Ashley (20) and Brandon (14). When Carla is not writing stories she loves to write music and cook meals that reflect different cultures. Carla currently lives in Baton Rouge, La. She has many upcoming projects including: Love By Default—A Stage Play, a book for couples with her husband as the co-author. Carla is also in collaboration with New Orleans’ very own female twin rappers, The Ghetto Twiinz. She is writing an upcoming novel Sho No Love...Surrounded By Criminals, the story of female twin gangsters. Carla believes her mission is an inspirational speaker, big sister and life coach to inner city young ladies. She speaks to them about setting goals to become a goal digger and not a gold digger, and about self-esteem, education, street life, teen pregnancy, safe sex, abuse, self-satisfaction, and adulthood.
