Eastern Arabic is the dialect spoken in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Eastern Arabic is also very well understood in the eastern and southeastern parts of the Arab world -- Arabia, the Gulf Region, and Iraq. Pimsleur's Eastern Arabic is based on the dialect of Damascus, Syria.

Reading Lessons are included at the end of Unit 30. These lessons, which total about one hour, give you practice reading Arabic and provide you with insight into Arab culture with proverbs, common expressions, and a broad look at things you’ll see when visiting an Arabicspeaking country.
