SUBTITLED : ` Canadian Veterans and the Return to Civilian Life: 1915 -1930.' 328 pages with a large section of appendices - including one showing likelihood of wound survival - and an INDEX. As WWI vets returned, Canada was in a state of jingoistic opportunism. Muddying the waters slightly was the question: Was the American or the British model, the ideal to follow ? If every returning soldier had been able-bodied and willing to take up farming on newly opened lands, things would have breezed along.
