From 1959 through 1962, former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt hosted twenty-seven roundtable discussions to tackle critical issues of the day that were important to Americans, as well as to the international community of academics, journalists, philosophers, and politicians. Guests for this program: Charles O. Porter (1919-), representative (D-Oregon, 1957-1961), an advocate of change in the United States' policy toward China; Blair Fraser, editor of Macleans magazine and one of Canada's leading political journalists, and; Zbigniew K. Brzezinski (1928-), member of the Harvard University Government Department and National Security Advisor (1977-1981); Saville Davis, managing editor of The Christian Science Monitor. In this program, Mrs. Roosevelt and her guests consider the inclusion of China in disarmament talks, the future of Chinese-Soviet relations, and possible changes in the United States' foreign policy on China. Please note: The archival material in this program went through many format changes before its present configuration.
