These 345 pages of musicological reference were compiled as a catalogue for scholarly use. This volume relies heavily on earlier compilations of similar material by Elisabeth B. Greenleaf, Maud Karpeles, Kenneth peacock and MacEdward Leach. It also references Fowke and Cass-Beggs. Early publishers like Johnny Burke and Gerald S Doyle also get coverage. Approx. 1500 first-lines are given, as are the slightly less reliable TITLES. Interesting section on gathering data from old `festival pamphlets'. Cond : Paper wrapper is white with a purple colour bar at base. Lettering (face and spine) is black. Cover graphic of an elementary teacher passing out music books. EX-LIB with most of the usual marks. Tape on spine. Corners soft, colours bright, binding tight. Internals free of marks. No tears. Reference item only. Bibliography of indexed materials. !!
