About the Author:

Always active in her community, Phyllis was the first woman to hold a position on the Board of Selectmen, and the last woman on that board before the town changed its Charter and elected a Mayor. She has been active in town as a town meeting member, Open Pantry, Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the West Spfld. Senior Center, Finance Committee, chaired the Police Rescue Boat Fund Raiser, Corporator of Westfield Bank, Co-Produced the West Springifield Senior Show, authored Articles on the history of businesses called "Business is Our Business", served on the Taste of West Springfield Committee, West Side Helping Hands Committee, Speaker at third grades in town on History of West Springfield, member of W.S. Historical Commission participating in production of 2 Historical Audio Walking Tapes & 1 Historical Audio Driving Tape, founded "Bring Your Memories" Class, a Docent and President of Ramapogue Historical Society, was honored with the Community Rotarian Paul Harris Award, and is a present member of the West Springfield Rotary Club.
