Entering the Shaman’s Eye is the extraordinary story of a Parisian seeker whose visions of the Medicine Wheel at Chaco Canyon propelled her to bring the teachings of shamanism back to her own people. A mix of memoir, commentary, and guided exercises, this book recounts the author’s remarkable apprenticeship with Native American shamans in the high desert of New Mexico even as it explores an ancient, universal approach to healing. Séjournant writes, “Native American culture allowed me to rediscover the part of me that feels like it comes directly from the earth and the sun. . . . And, paradoxically, the Native American ceremonies and rituals in which I had the honor of participating allowed me to better understand the culture of my own origins.”

Editorial Reviews
The French edition of this book, Le Cercle de vie, is now in its seventh printing, with nearly 20,000 copies sold. This translation makes Séjournant’s wisdom and insights available to a wider audience. Through personal stories and practical how-to exercises, Entering the Shaman’s Eye offers ways that readers can integrate transpersonal perspectives into our daily lives.

From the Author
From the Preface: “It took me several years of slowly getting deeper into the Native American culture to be able to understand that, in fact, I was looking for my own roots. I wanted to find the indigenous thread in myself, the origins of my flesh and spirit. This book is written to help the members of my original tribe—that is, Europeans—to renew their relationship with nature’s living spirit and to offer them the directions of the Medicine Wheel that have helped to reorient my life.”

L'autore:
Maud Séjournant MA, a psychotherapist and coach, incorporates shamanic tools in her work and helps her clients recover the secret of a lost state of well-being—what she calls “the indigenous spirit.”

Her practice is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with an international clientele, and she also leads retreats and workshops in France. A true adventurer, Séjournant has been living in New Mexico since 1985, after ten years on a small Caribbean island and two crossings of the Atlantic Ocean on a 30-foot sailboat.
