As his round winds along, the course brings a variety of characters from his past to meet him. These players show much about who Collins is and how he treasured his life’s relationships. Along with them, he is popped into and out of golf holes across two continents. Some are places he has played before, while some he had simply dreamed of before. Is it time travel, or is it just the enchantment of Gabriel’s Creek? The 18th hole is more than the end of Chris’ round. On that final green, Collins finds that Gabriel’s Creek Golf Course exists in neither the earthly nor the next world, but perhaps somewhere in between.

Alan Livingston is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and an alumnus of the University of Texas in Austin. He worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years, primarily as an accountant. His work in hotels, resorts, golf courses, and casinos included positions from corporate executive to table games dealer, from Georgia to California and many other points in between. Alan moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife and two dogs after 2005’s Hurricane Katrina destroyed their waterfront home in Biloxi, Mississippi, where they lived for 12 years. In Las Vegas, both continued their work in the casino industry on the Las Vegas Strip before Alan became a cancer survivor. The couple has three adult children, and two grandsons who live nearby in Nevada. Gabriel’s Creek is Livingston’s first published novel.
