In A paper recently read before the Iowa Commandery of the Loyal Legion and since bound in pamphlet form for preservation, Capt. E. D. Hadley ably and, we think, successfully refutes several popular errors relative to the Battle of Cedar Creek. These errors, embodied in the popular war poem, "Sheridan's Ride," are in substance that Sheridan, after a twenty-mile ride from Winchester, found Gen.
