Finally, she lifts her heavy eyelids. She can see only shadows. There are odd noises coming from some sort of machine next to her. Michelle wonders, "Where is my body?" She tries to move, and realizes she cannot feel anything. ANYTHING! Michelle's future now involves a desperate struggle to live a useful life despite being trapped inside a horribly wounded body. Her positive determination gives us all a reason for hope.
