Palestine is a land in turmoil. For most of the past century it has been under invasion by European colonizers, the Ashkenazim. By means ranging from simple occupation to armed invasion, these invaders have taken more than 90% of the Holy Land from its original inhabitants who have lived there for millennia. Many Israelis do not agree with this assault, but they have little power to control it. After decades of unremitting struggle, Palestine and its people have become the vortex of an unstable and increasingly desperate human tragedy. This book examines the situation from a Palestinian perspective. It looks factually at recent stages in the Israeli process of colonizing Palestine, but it centers on the efforts of the people themselves to cope with invasion, run a burgeoning Palestinian society, and protect for themselves some part of their shrinking homeland. This book displays one of the worst faces of modern political and military power with the hope that sanity ultimately will prevail, and the rights of the Palestinian people will be protected.
