L'autore:
Julie has been working as an independent filmmaker for the past 15 years working within a range of projects and genres including documentaries, commercials, action promos and art based films. She directs, produces, shoots and edits. Her work has been screened in galleries and festivals as well as broadcast and licensed internationally. Julie began her audio visual studies at Sandwell College in the West Midlands, studying audio multi track recording before going onto Plymouth College of Art & design where she chose to specialize in abstract cinema and 16mm film production. Her graduation films were screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival as well as many other illustrious festivals in Europe and further afield. With a keen interest in visual anthropology, Julie completed a part-time Audio Visual PhD at Brunel University´s Screen Media Research Centre in Ciné Parkour:a cinematic and theoretical contribution to the understanding of the practice of parkour. Much of Julie’s work explores themes of creative expression, adaptation, appropriation and the multiplicity of urban spaces. Julie works closely with Parkour Generations and the Yamakasi Founders, some of the world’s leading authorities on parkour, in creating new visual works, amassing over 16 million hits on her YouTube channel www.youtube.com/slamcamspam. Julie continues to work on both commercial and self-initiated projects maintaining a balance of art, visual anthropology and commercial success.
