The Author, R. L. Ransom has traveled all over eastern Asia, complements of the United States Navy. His interaction with the people of this region of the world has given him a unique perspective of different cultures, which he draws upon in his writing. He has always been a prolific writer, entertaining himself with his stories. Following the advice of others, he has decided to write to entertain others as well. In all of his stories, although not puritan in nature, he attempts to keep the subject matter suitable for all readers. His English teacher once accused him of plagiarism because she felt he was not capable of the quality of writing that his assignment exhibited. He received a failing grade for that story. Although this incident was traumatic and frustrating for him at the time, it has had an overall inspirational effect on his writing. He feels than in retrospect, perhaps his English teacher was wiser than he gave her credit for.
