The first player in the history of the school to complete a 500-pound bench press in competition, he counts as his greatest achievement raising his two children on his own after his first marriage ended abruptly. Rodgers has been a high school English teacher for 27 years and lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife, three children, his normal cat Oscar and his obese cat named Achilles.
