Joan Small, poet and author, has been writing poetry for most of her life, and inspirational poetry since the 1990s. She is a founding member of 'Poetry in Paradise', established in 1994 on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. Her print and e-books include, ‘Feeling Young While Growing Older Naturally, ‘The Energy Book for Life – The Guidebook to Energized Living’, ‘Negativity No More – Staying Positive Around Negative People’ and the ‘Allow Yourself ... You Deserve It’ series. She also has written fantasy fiction for young adults under the name of Joan Harcourt-Turner. Her vast experience in counselling, teaching, journalism, tourism, leading groups and workshops, raising children and being involved in several careers and many community groups has given her the background to share her valuable life-learnings and wisdom with her readers. Her passion is to share this experience, learning and knowledge with others to enable them to be energized and get the most out of life. As an Australian through and through, Joan has travelled throughout her own country and abroad. She holds the position of Advanced Toastmaster Gold with the International Toastmasters organization, and has mentored several others in speaking. She gives lively and inspirational talks, speeches and workshops.
