Wendy Dickstein has published poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction in the United States, Australia, Israel and India. Her cosmopolitan life began in New Haven, Connecticut. As a teenager she moved with her family to Sydney, Australia, where she studied English Literature at Melbourne University. Then she lived in England, India, and Los Angeles before finally settling in Jerusalem in 1986. In 2010, her story "Green Stockings" won a prize for fiction in Women in Judaism’s First Annual Writing Competition and a poetry prize in 2017 in Voices, Israel. Her short novel for young adults and the whole family,"Red Rock Adventure" (2103) is an engrossing adventure story which depicts with sensitivity and humor how six Israeli boys on vacation in Jordan cooperate with their Bedouin friends to thwart a terrorist plot in the ancient city of Petra. Working together to reach common goals, mutual respect for different cultures, and true friendship are recurring themes in her writing. In 2014 she published "Wanderings; Hyderabad Diary", the story of a spiritual journey from India to Israel. This continues the theme of honoring human beings from different traditions, yet finding one's own place within the continuum of shared human values.
