To New Safe Ports Found, A Poetry Tribute is a book of two companion poems of contrasting forms, one expanding on the other in an ascending victory for the spirit. Over 100 lines of verse, the work is a collaboration of the poet and visual design artist. Images of the sea and landscape contribute to the sailing and navigation themes, and give aesthetic space for the reader to contemplate the progression of each stanza. The poems consider navigation to the stars and are intended to give flight to the soul.

L'autore:
Harold Louis Deen, born 1950 is a native of California and lives in the Los Angeles area. A self taught artist, painter, writer and musician, To New Safe Ports Found is his first book. He has a particular affinity for the paintings by the Impressionist California painters of the earlier 20th Century, and grew up near the Monterey Peninsula, that inspired many painters of that era, and has tried his hand at plain-air paintings of his own on site at the rocky coast there. A few of his photos as well as those of the book designer are of that location. And his strong musical interest is the bagpipe which he learned to play from Scottish instructors. Now his last literary work, To New Safe Ports Found, has been released.
