I was born and raised in southern Wisconsin but now live on eighty acres of woods in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan-my grandparents homesteaded in the early 1900s. Growing up, my parents, sister, and I "vacationed" on this land in a cabin my parents built. I was raised with the best of both worlds: city life and country living. I learned to enjoy what nature had to offer, and also the love of reading. At the cabin there wasn't the amenities of home, such as TV. I learned to love to read. I love waking up every morning to see the deer in my yard. I also enjoy getting on our four-wheeler and riding through the woods, just enjoying nature. I am married to the love of my life, and we have three kids and nine grandchildren. I love reading to my grand kids and getting them interested in books. Reading to my kids and grandchildren gave me ideas about writing a book. It is something I have always wanted to give to them, from me: the love of reading.
