In 1985, I started a bookkeeping practice that I named "Catch-Up". It was my first lesson in how words and the thoughts that follow can be powerful (read the story in this book and you will see why). Years later, I was inspired to develop my first set of positive affirmation cards after I learned that we all have the power to create what we want with our thoughts. I designed my first set of cards as "flash" cards, to assist me in a program I was attending to develop focus on the positive changes I wanted to see in my life. I experienced such incredible improvements, I knew that the cards would benefit others who used them. The first set I created is called the "I Am... Cards" and gives affirmations that result in a feeling of empowerment and inspiration. A friend suggested having affirmations that brought awareness to patterns that might be creating conditions in a person's life and so I created the "Letting Go Cards." My third deck is a "Grieving Cards" set and is for gentle support and self-care when you experience loss. While I continue my bookkeeping practice, I have developed a website for the cards – www.apositivethought.com – where you can order your own sets of cards, and am now sharing my experience through this book.
