The Joy of Skinny: Homes doesn’t just show you the how-tos of de-cluttering and organizing your home; this book also provides powerful “why-tos” that will inspire you to take control of clutter—and take charge of your life.

In this warmhearted, easy-to-read book, authors Marcia Manchester and Charla Aylsworth show you how to see your relationship with clutter in an entirely new light. By making a compelling case for the philosophy that how you do one thing relates to how you do everything else, you see that not making decisions about what to do with all the clutter in your living environment probably means you are not making decisions in other areas in your life, either.

You are in relationships with everything in your life. All healthy relationships need to be appreciated, respected, and nurtured, and your relationship with your space is no different. When you nurture this relationship by being mindful about what you fill your space with, you are modeling respect for your family and friends, conveying the message that you are mindful about nurturing healthy relationships with them, as well.

The joy of this “skinny” adventure in confronting clutter is multifaceted, and its results are far-reaching.

L'autore:

Marcia Manchester and Charla Aylsworth are the authors of the Skinny Living series, including The Joy of Skinny: Homes, and the women behind the Skinny Living Project (www.skinnylivingproject.com), whose motto is: “If more isn’t working, try less.”

Manchester gained her education at Northeastern University. Originally from New England, she currently resides in Encinitas, California. Although she doesn’t miss New England’s snow, she does miss the fried clams. She credits her husband, son, and daughter with helping her appreciate the paradox that letting go is the best strategy for holding on.

Aylsworth holds a BA from Arizona State University. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, she has called North County, San Diego, home for the past twenty-five years but still can’t bring herself to use the word “dude.” She brings to the partnership a wealth of experience as a professional organizer.
