Rad had just left home for a new lifeglobe. It would be his first job – his first time away from his parents, living on his own. His day job would be as a member of the governing council on O-244, but his real passion was to become an eliteRooms' player. It was what most people on the lifeglobes across the galaxy dreamed of doing.
As he arrived on O-244, he went to work preparing himself to realize his dream. He studied mind control, yoga, meditation,Rooms' history, and new aspects of quantum physics - anything that would help him go up against a technologically advanced, sophisticatedRoom.
But during his studies, he encountered something that he never expected – something that began altering how he saw life. After that experience, he did his best to ignore what had happened and get back on track. He again buried himself in his work and hisRooms’ obsession, and finally on his third lifeglobe, achieved his dream.
But he could not escape what had happened to him on O-244, and it seemed that his life-view had been unalterably changed. Needing a new beginning, he immigrated to R-131 and made the decision to stop playing theRooms. However, leaving behind what had become a strong obsession proved almost impossible.
Shortly after arriving, Rad began hearing rumors about a very different Room – aRoom run by an old woman that was unparalleled for its graphic realism and complexity. Many of the best players were coming to R-131 in order to have a chance to play, but as they all learned over time, you could not choose to play thisRoom. The ‘old one’ who steered it chose you, as this Room was not designed for entertainment or pleasure. ThisRoom had been created to change the course of human history.
