Joe Tannian is third generation Irish-American born and raised primarily in New England. Brought up by committed and loving parents, Joe enjoyed a middle class American upbringing with a practical but yearning father and liberal mother, who for most of their lives canceled each other out electorally. There was a unique blending of viewpoint instilled in Joe - a pragmatic conservatism from his dad and a forever rooting for the underdog and less fortunate from his mom. Joe attended three very different colleges, Massachusetts College of Art, West Point Military Academy, and Boston College, which provided a spectrum of perspectives. He currently works at Liberty University which adds further to that variety. Their diversity is reflected in Joe's thoughts, hobbies and work. Renee and Joe married in 1981 and have enjoyed their adventure in life together, still drawing strength from one another. They have raised two wonderful, loving children who are adults now and beginning adventures of their own. Joe and Renee cheer them on from the sidelines, enjoying the bittersweet joys of an empty nest. Joe and Renee have been active in their faith. They have felt loved and encouraged by many believers along their way. Jesus wants to use his church to reveal himself and make himself evident. They are thankful they have been blessed by Him and through His body. Neither rich nor poor by American Standards, Joe truly feels wealthy beyond belief. Having more than he wants or needs, he recognizes the things he values most were not purchased with dollars.
