Samuel Earl Simpson was born in 1943 in Commerce, Texas, went to Baylor University, then the Air Force, then the University of Iowa.  He acquired a house in the country and subsequently taught in a rural environment for thirty plus years.  He has always written.  His wife is his peerless editor. They have eight extraordinary descendants.
