Updated for Revit® 2015 with improved workflow, illustrations, and insights. Additionally, the chapter on stairs and railings now includes both stair by sketch and component stair tools!

Originally developed as part of a college curriculum, this first volume in a two-part series of workbooks walks the reader through modeling a residence using Revit® 2015. The chapter sequence follows a workflow-based approach that approximates a real-world scenario where the design starts off generic, and progressively becomes more complex and specific. Parametric relationships and constraints – topics often glossed over in other texts – are demonstrated and reinforced right from the start and continue throughout the book. This full-color text employs unique instructional graphics that help guide the reader visually, reducing the amount of reading necessary – when compared to other tutorial style texts – to complete a series of steps. Supplemental content is available for download from the author's website at www.allthingsrevit.com.

Note: this text is intended to introduce and reinforce building modeling concepts through repetition. Insights into concepts, tools, and workflow are given throughout the book to facilitate learning. However, it is not intended as an in-depth reference detailing the "nuts and bolts" or complex underlying concepts of Revit®.

L'autore:

Rob Danner began using Revit® Architecture 9 in 2006 on his own residential design projects in the Southwest. After a few years of relentless determination to harness the power of this software, he reflected on his frustrations with the lack of comprehensive tutorials that not only focus what works, but also what to do when things don’t work. After relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Rob decided it was time to begin sharing his in-depth knowledge of Revit® and now teaches at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, Washington. Over the last five years, Rob has used the BIM House series in his Building Information Modeling curriculum at the college. This has provided ample opportunity to test, refine, and prove the effectiveness of the book’s content.
