L'autore:

The author was born in Harbin, Manchuria, China and moved to Shanghai in 1932, at the age of seven.He witnessed first hand the multiple armed confrontations that shook the city: two Sino-Japanese conflicts (1932 and 1937), WWII, Pearl Harbor, and finally the liberation of the city from the Japanese occupation.The author lived in the French Concession and attended the "Alliance Francaise".He completed three years of medical education at "L'Universite L'Aurore",a French Jesuit University and left Shanghai for Chile late in 1948, prior to the Communist take-over of the city.He practiced medicine in Chile and the USA, and is presently retired, living with his family in Boston, Mass.
