Mary Lister is a freelance storyteller and puppeteer. Passionate about the power of stories, she is actively involved with inner-city reading schemes and has performed in theatres, art galleries, museums and schools worldwide. She often uses puppets in her performances and also organises a yearly puppetry and animation festival. Mary lives and works in West Yorkshire, England. Diana Mayo has a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration from Kingston University in southeast England. Since graduating in 1990 she has worked as a freelance illustrator for many clients, including Kingfisher, Oxford University Press and Scholastic. Diana often holds an 'open studio' to give advice to new illustrators, and she runs courses on children's book illustration. She draws her inspiration from folk tales, myths and 'trivia' from around the world, and revels in strong colour and lively detail. The House that Jack Built is her first work for Barefoot Books.
