Basic formulas for torque and output are included, and extensive consideration is given to the fundamental and harmonic magnetic fields produced in the air gap by various types of winding. The topics of speed-torque-current relations, crawling and locking phenomena, magnetic noise, and the rating and application of motors are also covered.
