Das Oueuvre Baboccios umfasst in der Hauptsache reich dekorierte Kirchenportale und repräsentative Grabmäler. Geschickt verstand er es, alle prestigeträchtigen Aufträge seiner Zeit an sich zu ziehen. Seine variable Formensprache und der ikonographische Erfindungsreichtum kamen den höchst unterschiedlichen Bedürfnissen seiner Auftraggeber entgegen. Wie in einem Kaleidoskop werden die verschiedensten Aspekte seiner Arbeiten mit unterschiedlichen Methoden beleuchtet.
