Mrs. Huang Huilan is the first wife of Dr. Vi-kyun Wellington Koo, a late Chinese diplomatist. This book was written by Mrs. Huang in the 1970s. At her age of 80, she managed to finish the autobiography with the help of Isabella Taves, an American writer. Afterwards, the book was translated into Chinese by Tianjin Compilation and Translation Center. This book depicts the success and wealthy life of her family, her life with Mrs. Gu in England, Beijing, Paris and London till the 1950s in Washington. The book presents the various trivial matters happening in her extravagent life with a stream-of-consciousness style. In addition, it displays her support and help of her husband for his diplomatic cause, happiness and sorrows of her family and her happy but later broken marriage with his ex-husband, Vi-kyun Wellington Koo.
